M.A., Counselor in Training
816-246-4465, ext. 20
Kimberly joined Healing Grace Counseling Center as an intern in January, 2017. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Rockhurst University in 1997. In May 2018, she received her Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from Mid-America Nazarene University specializing in marriage, couples and family.
Before she decided to return to graduate school Kimberly worked in the medical field as a triage telephone nurse and medical assistant in a busy doctor’s office. It was while working in this job that Kimberly learned the importance of caring for the emotional needs along with the physical needs of those who are hurting. From this experience she found she had an intense desire to learn more about how she can focus on counseling as a profession.
Kimberly is finding she enjoys working with individuals, couples and families particularly utilizing emotion focused therapy (EFT) while integrating the best of Rogerian psychotherapy along the way. Kimberly considers it an honor to share in the journey of helping others heal and become the best they can be.
Kimberly is also a busy mom to twin boys (age11) who love to play baseball. Her hobbies include reading, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
