Mike has over twenty-five years experience in the field of mental health services, He has worked as an adult case manager in community support services. He has also been an intake specialist; but the one area he has found most rewarding is working as a mental health counselor. He enjoys working with people in helping them to see issues and problems from different perspectives and helping them to make better choices that will help them feel better about themselves and to overcome their personal problems.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Emporia State University. He holds a master's degree in counseling from Emporia State. He completed an Ed.S degree in social and behavioral sciences from Pittsburg State University. He is currently working towards his doctorate in mental health counseling at Mississippi College. From his education and work experience, he has found CBT and positive center approaches along with solution based therapy to be effective in helping clients to become more mindful along with helping them to build coping skills that they can utilize to help them to be more empowered in making healthy decisions in their lives.
