Shawn is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned his Master of Science degree in Counseling from the University of Central Missouri.

He has over 13 years experience working with individuals who experience co-occurring disorders, trauma, depression, grief, anxiety and low self-esteem.  He is passionate about the counseling process and demonstrating the dispositions of a counselor.  He believes a positive client-counselor relationship is based on cooperation, mutual trust, respect, confidence, collaboration and goal alignment.  He approaches counseling from a cognitive behavioral standpoint in that he believes there is power in recognizing that beginning the process of changing how we think about a situation can change how we feel and react to the situation.  He often utilizes a strengths-based approach as well as elements of motivational interviewing.

During Shawn’s ‘downtime’, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, spending time with friends, drawing and paranormal investigating with his ghost hunting team.
